You will be working in one of our three restaurants, learning how to deliver first class, personal and professional service to our members and their guests.

Duties that you will learn to be proficient at include:

  • Being fully aware of your work schedule and ensure adequate notice is given of circumstances when you are prevented from adhering to the schedule
  • Reports any incidents, complaints, suspicious persons or safety hazards immediately
  • Ensure strict control is adhered to when receiving and returning keys and whilst in your possession
  • To ensure that all guests are correctly and speedily logged and processed in the most courteous way
  • To have a good knowledge of the menu and styles of service
  • To take food and beverage orders efficiently and professionally ensuring all information is correct
  • To be fully conversant with the table lay-up and mise-en-place prior to, during and after service
  • To actively assist the Waiter in the service of food, beverage and tobacco
  • To promote a good team spirit and good relationship within the restaurant and kitchen brigades
  • To prepare Back of House for service
  • To clean all Back of House after service
  • Polish equipment

  • The successful candidate will be working towards the Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship Standard
  • You will also work towards Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English if required

You will develop the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours expected of a Hospitality Team Member which includes:

  • Recognising different customer profiles in hospitality and how customers have different needs
  • Understanding the importance of receiving and dealing with customer feedback to support the improvement of products and services and provide value for money
  • Proactively support the reputation of the business and be aware of how it compares with its competitors
  • Carefully handle payments, transactions, stock and packaging to minimise unnecessary financial loss to the business
