Working within our Head Office the apprentice accounting technician will assist in the day to day activities within the finance function and will work towards their AAT level 3 qualification and progress onto the level 4. Through study within our Academy you will apply the knowledge and skills gained during the apprenticeship within the workplace.

Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.55 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £6.95 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Advanced Level Apprenticeship
Although supporting with all functions of the department, here are some of the things you can expect to be doing:
- Ensure all purchase orders are raised and recorded in timely fashion and purchase order summaries are complete accurate and robust
- Post all approved purchase invoices onto the ledger accurately
- Ensure all supplier statements are reconciled and reconciling items rectified
- Posting of supplier payments and direct debits
- Preparation of the bank reconciliation
- Liaise with senior members of team with regards to supplier payments in terms of generation of payment files
- Assist in the month end process
In order to succeed you will be measured on:
- Completion of the accounting AAT qualifications levels 3 – 4
- Accuracy of data input
- Maintenance of Purchase Ledger
- Statement reconciliation
- Bank reconciliation

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Accountancy Academy in Derby on a day release basis, the remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace.
You will work to achieve the highly recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and receive MAAT (Member of Association of Accounting Technicians) status.
You will be learning about all aspects of Accounting and learning new skills related to how businesses work. On the Apprenticeship there will be a good mixture of practical work and written work.
