    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    Level 2 apprentices will have alternative weeks of 4 days at nursery and 1 day at college then a full week at work completing a maximum of 40 hours per week including the college day.

This vacancy is advertised by the Training Trust on behalf of Tamba.

As an Apprentice, you would be expected to diligently attend your training course, completing assessments and examinations in order to achieve the required standard in your studies and assessments.

For Level 2 apprentices possibility of a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship and career progression within the nursery.

Things to consider

It would be beneficial for candidates to have read our website and parental prospectus to gain an insight into our ethos and values. From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
