Fountains Medical Practice is a modern, vibrant medical practice based in Chester City Centre. The successful applicant would be expected to carry a number of customer service based tasks; booking patient appointments, signposting to additional services as well as supporting the clinician team.

Level 2 (GCSE)
Book appropriate patients into the appropriate GP/Nurse/HCA clinics making best use of clinical time and expertise by using the appropriate dialogue to improve and maintain access to the practice following the practice protocol.
Signpost patients to the appropriate external services available to save GP appointments.
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times; offering a 1-2-1 away from the desk if necessary.
Always follow the practice protocols and procedures and instruction from the management team.
Handling general enquiries in person.
Resolve queries in one process.
Recording information onto the clinical system ‘EMIS’ as required.
Process payments at reception and correctly receive and process private forms to be completed by GPs.
Strive to maintain quality within the practice and alert other team members to issues of quality and risk.
Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision.
Recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and will strive to communicate effectively with other team members, patients, carers and visitors to the practice.
Requirements and prospects
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Be able to multitask
Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Willingness to Learn
Good attitude towards learning
GCSE English and Maths desirable
Potential extension of role at the end of successful completion of apprenticeship.

This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West. If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A-C (9-4) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 1 Functional Skill in the relevant subjects.
