THE PIG is all about the walled garden. Everything is driven by the gardener, forager and chef - we grow and find the food, our chef then creates the 25-mile menu (what we can't get from our garden and grounds is sourced locally). This immediacy from garden to plate is THE PIG's trademark! Our menu changes by the minute depending on what the forager finds or the kitchen gardener deems to be in perfect condition. This is a genuine way of running our kitchen and as our Apprentice Chef you will have a unique opportunity to work as part of this award-winning team learning your trade from some of the best in the industry.

Future prospects

Although this opportunity starts with an intermediate apprenticeship there is an expectation that candidates will progress onto an Advanced and Higher Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

You will be working weekends and evenings, the kitchen can be hot and fast paced. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
