Full time 37.5 hours/week, or part-time 30 hours/week to suit the candidate. Our opening times are 8.00am - 8.00pm. Your working hours will be on a rota basis and will include off-the-job training.

Main duties:
- Greet, receive and direct patients
- Give completed prescriptions to patients, checking the name and address
- Deal with telephone enquiries
- Process appointment requests by patients, both in person and over the telephone
- Record messages for staff, clinical and non-clinical
- Record requests for home visits and repeat prescriptions
- Appropriately date, scan, record, code and act on emails, communications, letters etc (workflow) including laboratory reports
- Extract patient files for surgeries, house calls and routine enquiries
- File paperwork in the relevant patient file
- Register new patients and carry out de-registrations as required appropriately, completing all work required
- Process a patient’s change of address, having knowledge of the practice’s catchment area
- Retrieve patient notes, to be returned to the health authority
- Input patient information on computer, including under templates
- Scan, photocopy, file as requested
- Be able to navigate correctly on SystmOne, AccuRx, Xero and other computer programmes - training provided
- Provide cover as and when necessary for the administration team
- Review and stock clinical and non-clinical rooms daily
- Clear rooms after general practice as needed
- Help maintain the security of the building
- Contact patients for care and support e.g. flu clincis, Long Term Condition clinics, chase up information etc
- Perform systematic checks on toilet facilities, reporting faults and cleanliness problems to the appropriate department
- As part of the admin team, the role will be required to provide support and cover other areas such as admin, workflow and secretarial duties and requirements as required to ensure smooth running of the organisation delivering effective patient care, supporting all the Practice team
- Mandatory attendance at QUEST learning sessions
- Attend meetings / Take minutes
- Sort and date stamp all incoming patient-related mail

You will need to physically (virtual when appropriate such as bad weather) attend college every 6 weeks - college transport available.
