    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

As our Front of House Apprentice your responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning the dining room for service
  • Preparing for each service
  • Serving food and drinks
  • Preparing hot and cold drinks
  • Serving a range of customers, ensuring all needs are attended to
  • Taking orders and till payments
  • Complying with all relevant legislation
  • Dealing with Customers and suppliers
  • Learning about the marketing and online OTA’s

You will receive a full introduction in to the work place and on the job training.

Things to consider

Please make sure when applying for this vacancy that you have considered transport to work and college. You will be required to work some evening and weekend shifts. From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
