Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Provide a timely, accurate, efficient and effective monthly payroll
  • To be responsible for the monthly processing of the Payroll service which includes salary, pension and overtime/expenses administration and operation – with due regard to deadlines and employment legislation, and Trust policies and procedures
  • This will include new starters, leavers, contract changes and any other relevant personnel administration
  • Collate and input monthly payroll data including timesheets and any other payments and deductions such as maternity and paternity leave calculations, and transactions relating to salary sacrifice schemes including Childcare Vouchers and the Cycle to Work Scheme, in liaison with the Trust’s 3rd party payroll provider, Dataplan
  • Administer the Epayslips, dealing with any direct queries from NSAT employees
  • Ensure that all data on any manual and / or computerised HR and payroll systems is accurate and up to date, and that confidentiality is fully respected at all times
  • Assist in the process of annual cost of living and incremental pay increases
  • Assist the NSAT HR Manager with the collation of the pension year-end data for the purposes of external audit
  • Work closely with the Trusts’ 3rd party payroll provider, Dataplan, on all aspects of Trust payroll processes
  • Remain up to date with TPS and LGPS in order to support the administration of all pensions, giving support where applicable to staff and senior managers

General HR Process:

  • Liaise with staff of all levels across the Trust and its academies and establish effective relationships with other external agencies/professionals as appropriate
  • Assist with any general office tasks – administration, filing, answering the telephone, dealing with queries from school staff and support the HR central team with any other appropriate duties as may be required
  • Comply with NSAT policies and procedures including safeguarding processes in order to ensure the welfare of children and young persons and actively promote NSAT policies and procedures

  • As part of your wider duties and responsibilities, you are required to promote and actively support the Trust’s responsibilities towards safeguarding
  • Safeguarding is about keeping people safe and protecting people from harm, neglect, abuse and injury
  • It is about creating safe places, being vigilant and doing something about any concerns you might have
  • It is not just about the very old and the very young, it is about everyone who may be vulnerable

It is a prime objective therefore that staff will at all times project to the public the image of the Trust as keen to assist wherever possible, and positively promote the work that is carried out.
