Main duties:

  • To ensure all food preparation exceeds company standards
  • Input on menu development
  • Support chefs on duty
  • Ensure kitchen health & safety procedures are adhered too
  • Have an open communication route with Head Chef & Sous Chefs
  • Bring enthusiasm & passion whilst creating a brand new working culture
  • To have a ‘can do, attitude when faced with any general issues
  • Ensure correct stock rotation on all sections, fridges, freezers & dry stores

Future prospects

The possibility to progress onto the Level 3 Advanced Level Apprenticeship will be discussed upon completion of the Level 2 programme.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. More info is available at Individuals who already have a Level 4 qualification are now eligible for a Level 5 or above Higher Apprenticeship only. They are not eligible for funding for an Intermediate Level, Advanced Level or Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship.

Functional Skills Maths and English

The qualification will be delivered in the workplace with the assessor visiting once every 4-6 weeks as well as attend college once a week at the Walkden Campus.
