Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.55 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £6.95 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Advanced Level Apprenticeship
Prestige are looking for a mature and reliable individual to bring the business up to speed with regards to online marketing, Social Media and other aspects of marketing.
Typical roles and responsibilities will include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Managing and writing content on the company web site
- Advising on design and layout of company website
- Looking into Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to help improve the company’s online rankings
- Management of the content on Social Media platforms such as Linked-In, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram
- Taking photos of projects and posting them on Social Media
- Accompanying MD on client visits to help understand the client
- Writing blogs and content then finding relevant routes to market
- Assist with the design, layout and content of brochures
- Organising sales promotions
- Producing E-Shots
The successful candidate will report directly into the Managing Director and will be encouraged to offer advice and solutions with regards to marketing and Social Media.
(Full training and support will be provided throughout the duration of the 12 month apprenticeship).
Requirements and prospects
- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
- Graphics skills and CAD are desirable but not essential
- Excellent time-keeping is essential

Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE’s C and above including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents).
Prestige will look to progress the right candidate onto a full time position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. They will also consider the level 4 programme if both the company and apprentice decide that it would be beneficial.
Things to consider
From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Digital Marketing Academy based in Derby for an intensive 3 day block study. This is followed by attendance at the Academy on day release once a month thereafter for structured training, and the remainder of the training will be completed in the workplace. The Apprentice will work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Digital Marketing.
The Apprenticeship consists of:
- Level 3 Diploma in Digital Marketing
- Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths, ICT (if applicable)
