This apprenticeship will provide you with a whole host of skills from the providing of quality customer service, sales, marketing, administration, compliance and relationship building. You will also learn about the importance of road haulage, driving and transport, as well as learning a variety of customer focused tasks and skills:

  • Finding new clients and helping us to win their business
  • Finding new job seekers / candidates and registering them for work
  • Payroll administration
  • Ensuring all computer records are updated and correct
  • Taking calls from customers and job seekers, and making outbound calls confidently and effectively to internal and external customers.
  • Playing a significant part in developing the marketing strategy, especially via digital channels, in particular Facebook, LinkedIn and the Driverhire/LeedsWest website and dashboard.
  • Ensuring that we comply to all legal requirements in regards to the supply of drivers through effective use of systems  and logging of key activities.

Requirements and prospects

Desired qualifications

Preferably a minimum of 5 GCSE passes including Maths and English. Maths and English preferably at C/4 grades or above or the equivalent.

Future prospects

Unlimited, within the Driverhire network of circa 100 offices there are at least 2 business owners who started as Apprentices around 7 years ago. One of these offices is amongst the largest in the country with one of the highest turnovers per year. Many others progress to full time permanent positions then achieve promotions internally to become Office Managers or attain other Management positions.

Things to consider

As well as the Training provided as part of the Apprentice course, we will provide additional training, both based in our office and in other locations. Some of this will be systems led, some will be focussed on sales and customer service.
