Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Are you an enthusiastic chef who wishes to start your career in a high quality, fresh food environment?
This exciting opportunity will enable you to gain experience in all areas of the kitchen whilst working towards a Level 2 qualification in Professional Cookery.
As an Apprentice Chef you will
- assist the team in food preparation and production
- menu development and food tasting
- helping to keep the kitchen clean, tidy and organised
You’ll need to be able to work well under pressure, our kitchen is busy and vibrant and the rest of the chef team will be there to support you. You’ll also need to have a genuine passion for cooking fresh food and a keenness to learn. We’re looking for reliable, punctual, people with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Our menus have a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, specialising in Game, Fish and Rare Breed Beef, bred by ourselves.
Our passion lies in finding quality ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way.
Apprentice Chef will work 30 hours a week and your college time will be included in these. Please note you’ll need to work weekends and evenings and you should consider how you will get to and from the pub.
Level 2 Apprentices will be paid £5.00 per hour
Finally, once you have completed your qualification within the role, you may be offered full time employment with ongoing prospects for career development with a company that is fast growing and vibrant.

Requirements and prospects
- Passionate about food, some previous knife skill training or experience would be an advantage.
- Reliable and Trustworthy
- Punctual and Enthusiastic
- A – D English and Maths is desirable along with a willingness to learn (or equivalent)
