Wage advertised is for 16-17 years old, minimum wage for age is paid in for those 18+.
The duties that an apprentice would be expected to take on would be
assisting the head chef in:
- The preparation, cooking and service of the menu including starters and desserts
- Washing up
- Cleaning down
- Maintain knowledge and abide by all health & safety and hygiene regulations
- Mange portion control and food wastage
- Be responsible for daily tasks like stock management and food rotation
- To be able to work efficiently and effectively in the kitchen environment
The working week would be approximately 30-35 hours per week which would include evenings, weekends and breakfast shifts.
The starting wage would meet minimum wage requirements but if progression is being made then this would be negotiable over time.
The right candidate will have a very good work ethic, a willingness, to learn and take on instructions and a passion for cooking high quality food.

For the successful candidate, on completion of the apprenticeship, there would be the possibility of a full time position with opportunities for further training and career progression.
