    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

In house training will be provided alongside tutor visits.

Duties will include:

  • Data entry on bespoke systems
  • Supplier set-up
  • Enter purchase invoices
  • Maintain supplier accounts
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Liaise with suppliers as necessary
  • Work with purchase order processing system
  • Using excel for uploads and reconciliations
  • Using TAS accounts Finance system
  • Supporting the organisation in the delivery of documents
  • Understanding and using office equipment
  • Scanning documents for archiving purposes
  • To perform checks on financial information
  • Filing
  • Any other additional clerical tasks which may arise from time to time, as requested by the line manager

No formal qualifications required but assessment will be carried out at interview to determine whether this programme is suitable.

The successful candidate can go on to further training or an apprenticeship at Level 3, or into employment.
