A local Children's Pre School in Allenton, Derby in is looking for apprentice Childcare Assistants to join their growing team whilst studying towards a nationally recognised qualification.

We understand and value how hard it can be leaving your child in any childcare setting, we pride ourselves on having a loving, welcoming and nurturing environment for your child and yourself. We understand they may be tears and we offer a very comforting settling in policy ensuring all the child's needs are met.
Here at Little Angels we are all fully qualified childcare workers with over 7 years' experience in a Pre-school. Being parents ourselves we offer an understanding approach as well as a very safe, secure and happy environment for your child to learn through a wide variety of play and experiences. Our strong partnership with parents, ensures that parents are kept up to date with their child's progress.
We are open during term time, offering breakfast club, morning and afternoon sessions.
We take children from 2 years old and are able to offer the FREE 15 hours childcare as well as affordable sessions.

If you want to work as part of a friendly, supportive and caring team, that's dedicated to helping children to learn and grow to be the best they can be, then this is the Apprenticeship for you. Some of your daily activities could include:

  • Planning and assisting in activities such as arts and crafts, music and cooking
  • Helping children to learn numeracy and literacy skills
  • Feeding and changing babies


Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship you'll gain a nationally recognised childcare qualification, along with functional skills in Maths, English & ICT.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

You will need good communication skills and be comfortable with creative thinking. It is helpful if you are confident with children, calm and organised but most importantly - patient

Personal qualities

You will be an outgoing, friendly and caring individual who is capable of working as part of a team. You will be required to follow strict health and safety guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children.

Qualifications required

MUST BE LEVEL 2 QUALIFIED GCSE English and maths at grade C plus or equivalent is preferred but not essential.

Future prospects

When you have successfully completed your Apprenticeship, you may have the opportunity to continue with an exciting career in childcare! Initially you will be working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare, with a chance to progress to a level 3 after that.
