We are currently recruiting for an apprentice to join our small, friendly and dynamic Service Co-ordination team to help manage the scheduling of work for our national network of Service Engineers. Aside from the other Service Co-ordinators and our Service Engineers, you will also be liaising with customers, suppliers and other departments such as Finance, Hire and Sales. During the initial months you will be trained by our current Service Co-ordinators in order to gain the necessary experience for this role. We are keen to hear from professional, self-motivated individuals that are confident users of Office 365 and Microsoft Teams and have a passion for customer service.

  • To schedule work for all the Service Engineers under your care
  • To minimise the impact of any breakdown on the customers process by working with all necessary parties to ensure a prompt resolution
  • To respond to any customer complaints or problems in a sympathetic manner and expedite prompt resolution or escalation as appropriate
  • To ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the required schedule and that cancellations are kept to the absolute minimum
  • To ensure that all customer quotations are generated and submitted in line with customer expectations
  • To proactively resolve any procurement issues with suppliers and/or escalate in due time to avoid impacting customer service levels
  • To ensure van stock for the Service Engineers is well managed to avoid unnecessary purchases, excess stock and run-outs
  • To check and record Service Engineer time and tracker activity daily for payroll purposes
  • To support the Finance team in resolving aged debt and improving DSO performance
  • To support the Senior Service Co-ordinator in monitoring and improving departmental performance
  • To comply with all Company policies on Health, Safety, the Environment and Quality

Desired qualifications

For this level Apprenticeship A-C(9-4) in maths and English is requested, with an ICT qualification considered an advantage, however all applicants will be considered on merit subject to initial assessment against the challenging academic requirements of the standard. Confident application of English is critical to this role.

Future prospects

Permanent full-time position available after successful completion of apprenticeship.

Business Plus at Fareham College will carry out the training. We are an Ofsted rated Outstanding College. Time at College will cover bespoke off the job training to meet the need of the standard delivered at the College site and regular visits and support from the Professional Coach at the workplace.
