  • As an Apprentice your role will involve supporting the staff as a member of the team, the cleaning and maintenance of toys and nursery equipment, following policies and procedures, working with children from the ages of 12 weeks to 4 years
  • Being involved in the planning and implementation of activities
  • You will work closely with parents and other outside agencies, to make sure we deliver the best possible care and education for all children attending the nursery

Qualifications required

Preferably have GCSE Maths and/or English at grade C or above or equivalent.

Future prospects

Although this is not guaranteed, in the past we have been able to offer permanent jobs to apprentices who have performed well, when vacancies have come up.

Things to consider

The opening hours are 8 am-6 pm Monday to Friday, start and finish times may vary each week. Hours will be agreed in advance. The working week will be 40 hours. We are close to the train station and many bus routes. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour (From April 1st 2017 this will be increasing to £3.50 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

Online learning through our interactive e-learning site, supplemented by regular face to face support from your assessor.

Working to gain a recognised Advanced Apprenticeship for the Children and Young People's Workforce. This includes the Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Practitioner (Early Years Educator), Functional skills ICT at level 2, Employment Awareness Certificate and GCSEs in Maths and English if not already held. (Please note GCSEs must be at grade C or above)
