    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Little Sunflowers Nursery remains a family run and owned business with Jacqui still onsite everyday along with her son and daughter who are also onsite full time.

As the Nursery is growing Jaqui is now looking to take on apprentices to join the team. As this is an apprenticeship opportunity you will be working in the nursery setting and working alongside the nursery staff. 

As part of your Apprenticeship:

  • You will be there for the children during parent pick up and drop off times 
  • To assist the children when needed during meal times
  • To make sure that the nursery is clean and tidy at all times
  • To ensure that you are a good role model for the children 
  • To help team members when needed 
  • To be a good time keeper 
  • To work well as part of a team 
  • To use your own initiative

About the employer

Little Sunflowers Nursery are based in Beckenham, close to Elmer's End train/tram station. Little Sunflowers is one BIG family, all of the children are cared in our purpose built nursery. The nursery cares for children aged 3 months to 4 years old including preschool sessions, they also have a Breakfast and After school club for children from Reception to Year 6 and a holiday club for all half term breaks.
