After a strong period of growth, Pells are on the lookout for an additional apprentice to join their friendly team in Eastwood, Nottingham.

Although you will report directly into the Senior Accountant, you will also be supported by other senior members of the team and you will learn how to undertake the following duties:

  • Reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts. E.G VAT, PAYE etc.
  • Entering accounts data onto Sage Accounts Production Advanced
  • Recording and extracting bookkeeping data from Sage software and external client software
  • Updating client records on Sage Production Advanced
  • Making sure money laundering checks are done at the start of every accounts job
  • Undertaking the role of covering reception one afternoon a week
  • Ensuring that deadlines are met for assigned Bookkeeping and Accounts jobs

Full training and support will be provided by both the provider and employer.

Future prospects

Potential to study AAT Level 4 and there is a full-time role available for hard working apprentices at the end of the programme.

The apprentice will be enrolled on the Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard, which includes 6 AAT exams, in addition to the Synoptic Assessment as part of the End-Point Assessment (EPA) process.

The knowledge units will be delivered at the EMA training hub in Derby or Nottingham (depending on apprentices location) through day release.
