Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Futures Installations Limited undertakes a range of work including installation/replacement or repair of;

– Windows

– Doors

– Porches

– Conservatories

– Rooflines

– Fascias

– Cladding

During the apprenticeship you will learn how to;

– Maintain health and safety within the fenestration installation working environment

– Install window and door units

– Prepare and shape fenestration installation products and materials

– Understanding the building regulations in the fenestration industry

– Follow technical drawings and plans

You will need to show enthusiasm, commitment and interest in the subject area, have good practical skills and be able to take accurate measurements. You must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Things to consider

Please oncsider how you will reach the employers location and your commitment to working outdoors in all weather conditions. From the 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
