We are looking to recruit an individual who can provide and maintain efficient and courteous service of food and beverages.

  • To serve customers in the restaurant and bar area
  • Carry out duties in set up and close down
  • Deliver high standards of customer service
  • Gain working knowledge
  • Deal with guests comments and minor complaints and report these to the senior member of staff on duty 
  • Follow all procedures according to requirements

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Qualification in Food and Beverage Services. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Future prospects

Learning new skills and obtaining knowledge. Gaining the possibility of securing a permanent job within the company and a Level 2 Food and Beverage Diploma.

Things to consider

Straight shifts, weekends, bank holidays and late hours. 30 hours a week will be the minimum, but this may rise some weeks up to 40-48 hours. Reliable transport is important as site location is rural. The Maynard is located on the B6521 towards Grindleford. The hotel is on your left hand side before entering the village and opposite the entrance to Grindleford Train Station. From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
