  • To liaise with management and supervisory staff to ensure that the order in which Clients are visited is in line with the time schedule agreed with the Client and effectively planned so as to minimise travel time between visits
  • To inform the Client or the office if significant delays occur or, for whatever reason, a visit cannot be completed, in order that Clients are made aware of the situation and alternative arrangements can be made
  • To deliver care to Clients in accordance with the Clients Personal Care Plan and in a manner, which is professional, sympathetic, compassionate, caring and entirely consistent with the Company’s objectives in delivering a highly reputable and efficient service
  • To respond appropriately to any concerns the Client has in relation to the care they are receiving, and to identify and report any aspects of the Personal Care Plan which, in the light of these concerns, may require amendment
  • To promote the Client’s independence, identifying and reporting any aspect of the Personal Care Plan which may need modification in the light of this objective
  • To protect the Client’s dignity at all times and to deliver intimate care in as non-intrusive a manner as possible consistent with this requirement
  • To follow established rules, regulations, policy and guidance so as to ensure, as far as is possible, the health, safety and welfare of oneself, and one’s Clients, with particular reference to lone working, administration of medicines and manual handling
  • To report any hazard which may, if not adequately controlled, present a risk to health and safety
  • To maintain accurate records relating to the care given to the Client, including tasks undertaken on the visit, medicines administered etc.
  • To report any accident, incident or untoward occurrence to the Supervisor or Manager
  • To make a note of any complaint made by the Client and report back to the Supervisor or Line Manager
  • To record and report any concern which arises in respect of the health, safety, welfare or wellbeing of the Client which might require a review of the Client’s Personal Care Plan in advance of the schedules and regular review
  • To deliver care in a respectful and non-discriminatory manner, and one which recognises the diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds of the Company’s Clients
  • To protect confidential information relating to the Company’s Clients
  • To observe the Company’s Policies and Procedures, and to query anything which is unclear with the Supervisor or Manager
  • To participate in supervisory, performance management and learning and development activities which focus on improved quality of service for the Company’s Clients, and the knowledge, skills and abilities of staff employed

Things to consider

Important Information

  • Applicants need to be over 18 years of age due to the requirement for personal care
  • Candidates would need to have their own transport to get around and to get to clients within our defined area
  • Candidates would require class 1 business use car insurance
  • Mileage cost is included in the rate for each visit completed
  • Pay would be weekly in arrears
  • Due to the requirement for personal care with our predominantly female clients and to preserve their dignity as much as possible, we would be looking for 2 female apprentices. We have previously claimed an exception to the equality act in this regard
