    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

We are looking for someone who can answer phones calls, make phone calls to customers securing bookings and who is able to meet people and talk about what our Charity’s aims are. We need someone who is able to work well with others and who is motivated and hard working.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic individual who is customer focused: who has an understanding.  Our colleague will be clear-sighted, with the ability to identify new opportunities and to develop those opportunities, exploiting them to the best advantage for our learners. He or she will be charismatic, with an outgoing personality, and will possess the ability to interact with people at all levels, with a positive “can do”, “will do” approach, together with the ability to work with, and motivate others is essential.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Maintain clean and tidy appearance of all areas
  • Handling complaints or passing them up to a manager if necessary
  • Photocopying, shredding, laminating and scanning
  • Dealing with client enquires

You will be spending a lot of your time talking to customers on the phone securing dates and creating bookings for a school event we provide nationwide.

Training provider

Training will be provided by City College Peterborough. Training is work based meaning you spend 4 days a week at placement and 1 day a week at college. This includes functional skills classes where applicable.
