To support a care team, in providing personalised care and support to people who use Vivo’s care services in line with their individual care and support plans, and to identify and deliver individual or group activities, ensuring people’s needs and outcomes are met and they are able to reach their full potential.

The roles are based in a company-wide pool of Apprenticeship Adult Social care posts (4 recruited per annum – starting from September 2021). The posts will work alongside trained Support Workers (at Grade 4) as part of a care team providing personalised care and support to people who use Vivo’s care services in line with their individual care and support plans, and to identify and deliver individual or group activities, ensuring people’s needs and outcomes are met and they are able to reach their full potential. There will be placements across all of our services to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism including Supported Accommodation, Respite services and Day Services; and across our Older People Services including a Care Home and Day Services.
Line Management of the posts will be by the Support Worker (Grade 6) for that team. In addition, there will be a Mentor to support each Apprentice who is a Deputy Service Manager (Grade 8), plus the previous years’ apprentices will each be a “buddy” to the new appreciates to offer support and advice as they embark on their new career in Vivo. In addition, there will be strategic oversight and support for the Apprenticeship programme from HR, the Director or Operations and the Managing Director to ensure that the programme is well-supported and truly embedded within the Company including six-monthly catch-up sessions with all the apprentices.

Requirements and prospects
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to treat all service users with respect and to maintain their dignity
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office IT packages
To have a caring and giving nature with an interest in providing person-centred care and support to vulnerable adults (either with a Learning Disability or elderly). To be able to deliver this care demonstrating the core values of the Company which are – Courage, Accountability, Quality, Collaboration, Customer-Focussed and Caring.
- Flexible in approach to meet the needs of the service

- GCSE or equivalent in maths and English or
- Ability to obtain the required level in Numeracy and literacy during the apprenticeship
There are excellent career opportunities to work in a wide variety of care and support settings across the company including a permanent appointment to a Grade 4 Support Worker and then, in time, progression to a number of more senior supervisory roles.

A full programme of training will be provided to each Apprentice towards the achievement of the Adult Care Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship including substantial on-the-job training, a period of shadowing at the start of each role plus provision of mandatory training for areas such as Safeguarding, manual Handling, Health& Safety and much more.
