Duties may include:

  • Assisting the smooth running of the sales office
  • Processing customer orders and enquiries via telephone and email
  • Accounts support function - invoicing
  • Supporting the sales team with any ad-hoc queries
  • Recording supplier invoices on purchase ledger
  • Posting suppliers invoices into stock through purchase order processing
  • Checking stock quantity, availability and location on a monthly basis
  • Update stock database
  • Allocating customer Payments – Cheque/BACS
  • Despatch orders through our couriers
  • Arranging shipment/documentation for any foreign exports
  • Currency conversions
  • Updating customer information in our CRM software

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Organised, disciplined and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills i.e. familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Confident speaking to customers face-to-face and over the telephone
  • Good standard of written English to respond to customer emails
  • Experience of working with Sage software, in particular, Sage line 50 is beneficial, but training will be supplied for the appointed person

Personal qualities

  • You must be professional and conscientious with a good team ethic
  • Be self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative
  • You will have a "chip-in" mentality as other office duties will need to be completed on an ad-hoc basis
  • A methodical and organised approach to work will be necessary as well as attention to detail

Desired qualifications

GCSE or equivalent at grade 4/C or above in maths and English.

Future prospects

The rate of pay is subject to change based on experience.

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship you are very likely to be asked to stay with the company. Annual bonus is paid based on level of profitability.
