Daily duties will include:

  • Maintaining kitchen Health & Hygiene standards
  • Daily prep work
  • Understanding produce and using fresh produce to create dishes

Working under guidance of head chef to develop skills whilst also attending college 1 day per week to achieve Commis Chef Apprenticeship.

About the employer

The Royal is a busy country gastro pub in the village of Bolton-le-sands. We focus on modern British pub food using fresh and local ingredients. Our menus change each month with the kitchen team having a very practical role in developing the menus alongside the owner and head chef. We serve food all day, 7 days a week with the kitchen shutting at 9pm each evening. Our kitchen delivers food sales between 10-25k a week depending on the time of year.

Level 2 Commis Chef apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster and Morecambe College in order to successfully complete the Commis Chef Apprenticeship programme, subject to attending an Apprenticeship Preparation Training Session here at Lancaster and Morecambe College.
