Apprentice Paint Refinisher required to work and train within a busy commercial repair and paint refinishing company. Apprentice Paint Refinisher to train/work alongside existing skilled staff in the Paint department. Will report to the workshop controller or depot manager daily.

Duties will include:

  • Vehicle preparation and repairs
  • Primer and top coat applications
  • Shot-blasting
  • In addition to training and assisting in the paint department you will carry out general housekeeping duties
  • You will mainly work with a chosen mentor in the paint department but will be expected at times to work with other company staff members possibly in other departments at busy times.

Qualifications required

  • A minimum of 3 GCSE's at grade D or above for level 2, including English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Level 1 Diploma in accident repair Paint Refinishing or previous experience of working in a motor vehicle Body shop

Future prospects

Progress on to a level 3 Paint Refinishing qualification (21 months). Become a skilled and valued member of the workshop team.

B&K Commercials are located at Langwith Junction, Langwith Road, Shirebrook, NG20 9RN, they are easliy accessible by train and there is a train station approximately 5 minutes walk from the company location. The position can be physically demanding and dirty at times. A high level of attention to detail and quality is also expected at all times.

From the 1st October 2016, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices aged 16-18, and those aged over 19 who are in the first year of their Apprenticeship, is set at �3.40 per hour. The NMW applies to time working and time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age categories above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.
