A normal day would include:

  • Scanning documents such as transport PODs
  • Working with multiple IT systems inc. MS Teams, MS Office, MS Outlook, Fleetwizard and Zoho
  • Checking & replying to customer emails and data inputting /entering booking onto our bespoke system
  • Taking customer calls and making external calls
  • Producing monthly reports to the Commercial Director– requiring data analysis and making proposals for improvement of our operations processes. Ability to use Excel & PowerPoint
  • Good presentation skill would be advantageous
  • The individual needs to be proactive and use good judgement. Able to make decisions and seek advise from team members. Good communication is essential
  • Daily problem solving is key to the role.  Whilst being mindful of the impact of the decision on our operation and the impact on relationships with clients This requires daily comms with Operations Director and the Commercial Director
  • To accept responsibility for making arrangements for The Commercial Director with Travel and accommodation needs and event planning
  • To manage projects for the Commercial Director such as National pricing strategy changes: to plan, monitor and communicate with colleagues & customers on the projects
  • To engage and develop relationships with both customers and suppliers and be able to develop a brokerage network
  • To have sound understanding of laws and regulations the apply to our industry, RHA, CAA and comply with H&S. we operate is a heavily regulated industry so compliance is key 
  • Understand our complex pricing matrix/ tariff and being able to quote customers for collections and deliveries
  • To monitor rates and ensure our back office systems are maintained
  • Sound understanding of vehicle sizes, shipments dims, weights and measurements
  • Able to communicate with other team members in Sales and Operations and Transport Management. The role has scope to take on Supervisory duties and individual must be able to work alone after initial training
