The Oggy Oggy Cornish Pasty Cafe & Takeaway based in the centre of Bodmin. Friendly atmosphere where customer service is a priority. Oggy Oggy offers a large range of food and drinks, ice-cream, milk shakes, slushies, luxury hot chocolate, smoothies and of course the traditional teas and fresh ground coffee. We also prepare and cook all our food fresh to order.

About the role:

As an apprentice you will be expected to provide a friendly and efficient service to all customers. You will also be expected to carry out cleaning of the kitchen, service areas and restaurant in accordance with the cleaning schedule.

The wage will be reviewed during the Apprenticeship.

On completion of the 14-month Apprenticeship Standard and the 2 month end of assessment, depending on performance, you may be offered a full time role.

Duties will include the following:

  • To deliver excellent customer service
  • To co-operate with all catering staff
  • To ensure food storage and areas under your control are maintained in a clean & tidy condition
  • Full barista training given
  • Provide service with smile
  • Cook pasties, prepare sandwiches & panini
  • Greet customers, take food and drinks orders, bring food and drinks to the tables, take payment and make change, be quick, efficient and friendly
  • Good communication, good time keeping, cleanliness, good listening skills & till reconciliation
  • Reliability, positive attitude, working as team or on own, bubbly personality & forward thinking are a must
  • You will also be required to keep up to date with all Apprenticeship work, and to have regular one to one (every 4-6 weeks) with the Regional Trainer to discuss your work

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Team Member standard. Your standard will be delivered by Babcock Training who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a regional trainer delivering one to one training and guiding you through your Apprenticeship.

This is a role with a demanding schedule to incorporate a mix of early shifts starting from 7am, and weekends due to the nature of the business.
