You will work as part of our Payroll team to deliver a first class payroll, pension and benefits service for colleagues across Home Group. During the apprenticeship you will work across the team and gain experience in all aspects of the role. You will be provided with on the job training alongside studying for your qualification.

Our Payroll team delivers a first-class payroll, pension and benefits service for colleagues across Home Group. So, we’re an important team because we are responsible for making sure that our colleagues get paid accurately and on time!
In this role you’ll learn loads! Including all about and how to use our payroll systems, how we process all pay related changes for colleagues and some really important legislation around tax and national insurance.
You’ll report into our Payroll Manager, Helen, and be part of the wider team of four Payroll Specialists (Samantha, Ann, Anna and Sarah). Helen enjoys walking her two German Shepherds and we all love to talk on our Monday morning call about how we’ve been spent our lockdown weekends (usually a with walk and lots of TV!)
Your academic learning will be delivered by one of our specialist apprenticeship providers and you will receive support from an experienced tutor as well as from within your own team. You’ll be given time to attend all learning sessions and to complete your studies whilst having access to the learning materials and practical experience that will make a success of your apprenticeship.
Requirements and prospects
You’re going to really impress us if you’re proactive, professional and committed to learn new skills in a professional business environment. At the moment (until lockdown is eased) we are all working from home, so you’ll also need to be motivated and a real self-starter. We’d also like you to be able to work with real accuracy (because nobody likes to be paid incorrectly!) and have good IT skills, with the ability to use Excel an advantage.

It is really important that you have a big interest to work in a professional office environment and commitment to your personal and professional development. But hey….this is an apprenticeship so just be willing to have a go, try new things and learn loads!
- GCSE or equivalent in maths at grade C/4 or above

Pay from £4.62 to £8.91 per hour depending on your age (plus you’ll achieve an accredited professional qualification - which we pay for and give you time to study towards – how awesome!)
