The role of the Hardware Customer Service Apprentice is a new role following the success of ACS growth and its relationship with customers. Strong customer service can build sales and visibility as we try to distinguish ourselves from competitors.

The main aim for a customer service advisor is to provide excellent customer service to all ACS clients.  You will ensure that the ACS organisation completely satisfies its customers' needs. You will work at various customer service levels assisting client related issues communicated by both internal sales and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing help, advice and a solution to customers using the ACS customer service advisor process
  • Communicating courteously with customers and suppliers by telephone, email and letter
  • Investigating and solving customers' problems, which may be complex or long-standing problems that have been passed on by the ACS sales teams

Coordinating all customer / supplier scenarios including:

  • POD’s / ETA’s / Faulty Items / Customer Errors / Shortages / Picking Errors
  • Issuing credit notes and product replacements
  • Keeping accurate records of correspondence with customers and suppliers
  • Validating leads from the government frameworks to target new customers
  • Creating and maintaining filing systems
  • Buddy with colleagues in the sales environment to develop their skills
  • Communicate in a sales office environment and provide administration services
  • Produce business documents to support the internal sales team
  • Documenting and profiling price submissions on behalf of sales
  • Database report checking for the sales guys
  • Telephone validating leads for the sales channel to identify key buyer names and contact information
  • ACS is a quality orientated company and you are expected to work towards all our QMS procedures and processes

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good general IT skills including MS office applications and use of a CRM database desirable

Personal qualities

  • Willingness to engage with customers both internally and externally
  • Confidence to ask questions and resolve problems

Desired qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSE A-D / 8-3 or equivalent
  • Desirable: previous experience in a customer facing role

Future prospects

  • The employer is looking for a permanent member of the team on a successful completion of the apprenticeship
