The right applicant will have the opportunity for the best possible start to a catering career, learning from many very skilled and experienced chefs’ about how to cook the right way. 


Duties will include:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen at all times
  • Assisting the head chef
  • Learning different meals both day to day small cooking to the larger cooking on a bigger scale 
  • Looking after stock and restocking

Possibility of a full time post on completion of the Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.40 from the 1st October 2016. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.

A village country pub situated on the A4 between Reading and Newbury. Providing a lovely venue to enjoy our extensive menu which includes carvery and a la carte. We have a function room that seats 40 people and is ideal for special events like birthdays, weddings and conferences.
