Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Monday to Friday 08.30- 17.00 - 1 hour lunch unpaid

This role is a crucial element within the Contracting and Estimating team.

Typical duties will include:

  • Working closely with estimating colleagues – building your industry knowledge
  • Inputting accurate client measurements into a bespoke system – ensuring accuracy and precision at all times
  • Understanding how to navigate and work with Auto CAD and increase awareness and knowledge of this software package.
  • Developing full understanding of product types and codes
  • Handling incoming telephone calls
  • Providing administrative support for colleagues within the team
  • Arranging appointments and scheduling diaries
  • Generating emails and letters to clients

Throughout this Apprenticeship you will be closely guided and mentored by the team. Along with this you will received teaching and learning from an experienced work based tutor from Chesterfield College.
