As Mug Tug Crew Member Apprentice you will be working and completing a variety of tasks.

These tasks include:

  • Work to standard operating procedures in line with company policy
  • To keep the boat to a high standard of safety, tidiness and cleanliness at all times.
  • Clearing and resetting tables as needed with painting equipment
  • Cleaning of Studio equipment (brushes, palettes etc)
  • Explaining to customers how to use the paint and how to get the best finish for their masterpieces
  • Giving assistance as and when necessary to customers who need help or suggestions
  • Helping customers with their baby/child’s hand and foot prints on to ceramic items
  • Filling paint bottles
  • Helping to keep stock at suitable level
  • Setting up and assisting with Birthday Parties
  • Answering telephone and answering customer queries as and when required
  • Wrapping customer collections to standard required.
  • Personalising customer’s masterpieces with names and ages etc.
  • Creating Personalised items to customer’s orders as and when required.
  • Meeting and greeting customers and giving advice on suitable items to create, prices etc.
  • Ensuring all floor areas of Studio and Staff Only areas are swept and mopped at the end of each day, and Studio left ready for business the next day
  • Showing customers painting techniques as and when required to fulfil the requirements of the Apprenticeship scheme

As part of the apprenticeship you will be working towards a Level 2 in Customer Service (Level 3 candidates also considered).

Qualifications required

Minimum grade C in English GCSE or equivalent qualifications.

Future prospects

On successful completion of the Apprenticeship, satisfactory performance and the growth of the business, the candidate will be considered for a permanent position with the company.

Things to consider

Sunday working is a requirement Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
