    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Main duties to include:

  • Data input
  • General administration duties to include: dealing with telephone and email enquiries, photocopying, creating and maintaining filing systems;
  • Word processing;
  • Letter writing;
  • Maintaining diaries and arranging appointments and other admin duties as required.

Qualifications required

  • Minimum GCSE in English and Mathematics grade A*-C or equivalent.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

Future prospects

Salary is subject to negotiation with successful applicant; increase in salary on completion of an initial successful 3 month probation period.

Things to consider

The successful applicant must be able to travel to work in Ashburton, and therefore access to own transport would be advantageous but not essential. The successful applicant will also have to attend a limited number of Study Sessions in Exeter.
