We are looking to appoint a key member of the IT team by appointing a technician with the energy and skills to maintain our 750 PCs.

The person appointed will work closely with the Network Manager, IT Systems Technician and other relevant staff. The confidence to communicate and co-operate with all members of staff in a user-friendly way is more important than any specific knowledge.

Desired skills

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • IT related Level 2 qualification
  • Experience of using Microsoft Windows desktop technologies
  • Experience in an IT related/similar role
  • Experience in education/public sector organisations
  • Willingness to undertake CPD including health and safety training
  • Disclosure and Barring Service check - Enhanced Disclosure
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive eight weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.
