The apprentice will be expected to carry out the following duties:

  • Inspection of products during manufacture.
  • Use a micrometer, vernier. attribute type gauges etc.
  • Use Micro-VJ, CMM etc.
  • Programming Micro-VJ and CMM.
  • CAD use for creating engineering drawings.
  • have a full understanding of engineering drawings including symbology etc.
  • Use and fully understand S.P.C
  • Complete I.S.I.R, P.P.A.P, F.A.I.R, A.P.Q.P when required.
  • Calibrate metrology equipment.
  • Carry out first offs and last offs.
  • F.M.E.A completion.
  • Sourcing standards and communicating with customers to ensure a full understanding of what is required for manufacture of products.
  • Assessment of suppliers at their location.
  • raising of and chasing up of non-conformance issues.

Training will involve two days per week at In-Comm Training Services Ltd, Aldridge, for the first twelve months.
