We are looking to recruit  an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who would be able to work as part of the kitchen team and deliver high standards of produce to our customers.

Your duties will include:

  • Food preparation and production
  • Maintaining health and safety standards
  • Maintaining food hygiene standards
  • Follow the completion of cleaning schedules and due diligence

Desired skills

Full training will be provided. You must have good common sense and be polite and friendly. You must be able to listen to and act on advice and instructions given by your peers, be keen to learn and have good organisational skills. The right candidate will be enthusiatic and ambitious.

Personal qualities

Hardworking individual who has a proactive approach to their work, with good attention to detail. Be reliable, flexible and respectful. Have good time keeping, be professional and smart in appearance and have good communications skills.
 

Qualifications required

No formal qualifications required however the right candidate will have at least basic levels of Mathematics and English.

Future prospects

This is an opportunity for a person interested in learning new skills and obtaining knowledge and gaining a work based Apprenticeship with the possibility of securing a permanent job within the company on completion of the Level 2 Diploma in Food Processing & Cookery.

Things to consider

Varied shift patterns. Weekends and bank holidays are required as this is a fast paced work place in the hospitality industry. You will need to have reliable transport to get to work. The hotel is near Ashbourne town centre and there are buses that pass the site. The owners will provide support in the evenings as and when required. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
