Within the Operations Support Centre, as part of a team of 6 to ensure prompt distribution of technical documentation and information to 600 technical committees via web-based systems.

  • To ensure accurate entry of committee member contact details into a SAP database
  • To provide support to the Committee Member Training Manager as required in preparation of delegate information and course booking
  • To provide general administrative support to the wider departmental management team

Within the Standards Market Development department provide specific administrative support for events and registration agencies.

Within the external policy department to provide administrative support ensuring voting is undertaken on time and summary briefs are produced for delegates attending policy level international and European meetings.

Qualifications required

  • Educated to GCSE A* to C (or equivalent) level in English and Maths
  • Experience of working with computerised systems, including data entry and calculations
  • Knowledge of the filing and retrieval operations of numerical filing systems
  • Experience of working to deadlines in a busy office environment
  • IT – Word processing, spread sheets, database entry, use of general office equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Clear and concise English

Future prospects

The position is for one year and there is the opportunity of permanent position if vacancies arise within the company.

Can learn and obtain English, Maths & ICT to Level 1 or 2 Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
