Estio Training has an exciting new opportunity for an IT Telematics Technical Apprentice with Ctrack based in Headingly, Leeds.

Ctrack want to introduce an apprentice to the world of telematics. To nurture and develop the apprentice into a model Ctrack employee, with a view of offering them permanent employment on completion of the apprenticeship. The role will be split between two departments; Operations – technical customer support and Development – testing.  



  • Work with the development team in releasing high quality products
  • Become an expert in cutting edge testing tools and processes
  • Installation and upgrade of Ctrack software and unit firmware
  • Document bugs in issue tracking software to an agreed standard
  • To be able to retest bugs in an organised and methodical way
  • Provide support to the development team and work with them to provide a high quality service
  • Ensure all testing issues are being attended to and resolved appropriately
  • To have a proactive and creative approach in solving any technical issues
  • Provide feedback on quality of development updates on issue tracking software
  • Share information, knowledge and lessons learnt


  • To be able to talk to and support Ctrack customers, from small businesses to large organisations
  • Investigate tickets/queries by ascertaining problems accurately and providing appropriate solutions and where a solution cannot be found, follow escalation processes
  • Log fault management information in the Ctrack support software
  • Keep customers updated with progress on their fault tickets
  • Support engineer calls – commissioning new installs and services and ensuring all commissions are completed accurately following the correct process.
  • Gain an understanding of how the Scheduling and Installation team works
  • Confirm engineer work with the customer
  • Ensure relevant documentation is sent and received to and from the customer before the work is undertaken
  • Manage customer expectations

  • Excellent organisational and troubleshooting skills

Qualifications required

  • Ideally grade B or above in GCSE ICT and/or Science (or equivalent)
  •  GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive seven weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience. 
Training will lead to industry-recognised qualifications including: 
Advanced apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals 
Level 3 Diploma in Professional 
Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals 
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles 
Functional skills, Maths L2, English L2 and ICT L2
