About the employer

Sanctuary Group is one of the UKs leading providers of housing, care and community services. With around 11,000 employees, we maintain a culture where diversity is valued and talent is nurtured and rewarded. There is more to Sanctuary Group than you might think. Were a not-for-profit organisation, but we operate with the commercial vigour of a leading private sector business. And we offer all sorts of different entry points. Providing affordable housing is at the core of our organisation, but Sanctuary has many component parts including commercial activities. We are accountable to real people, not to shareholders, and reinvest all of our surplus income into communities and services. A fast growing organisation, we have also diversified into care and facilities management services. We think this mix of activities makes Sanctuary Group a challenging and exceptionally rewarding place to work.

Training provider

Training through HWGTA normally comprises of five days per week in company with one day release on a fortnightly basis to our Training Centre at McKenzie Way, doing an appropriate course of study.

A monthly monitoring visit in company will also take place, during which we make ourselves available for discussion about any special training that may be useful to you, identify and resolve problems if they arise and plan work for your qualification.

Apprentices generally work towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 in their chosen vocational area.  In addition, the training programme includes a mandatory 5-day team building residential course, usually held in  April/May each year, text processing exams, and if undertaking a level 3 qualification a 3-day first aid at work qualification.  Functional Skills qualifications may also need to be undertaken depending on prior qualifications and levels
