We are looking for highly motivated and creative people to help communicate, engage, share and inform others about our story in North West London.

Job Summary

  • To provide administrative support to the Communications and Engagement Team, supporting them in ensuring the organisation meets its statutory public involvement duties.
  • To provide administrative support on a range of projects and a range of areas across this agenda.
  • To help enable a two-way open flow of information between the CCGs and its public and stakeholders that is accurate, timely and can inform decision making and policy.

Key responsibilities of this post

  • To provide administrative support to the Communications and engagement team
  • Establish and oversee efficient administrative and business systems to support the directorate.
  • Assist the communications team in the proactive and reactive management of the media; responsible for managing the press cuttings service.
  • Assist the communications team in the production of internal and external publications; helping to draft copy, proof read; source external suppliers for design and print.
  • Assist the communications team in the management of website and social media content; acting as a content manager for internal and external websites and monitoring social media activity relevant to the eight CCGs.
  • Provide an excellent telephone and face to face manner to all customers and staff. Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism at all times when dealing with customers and fellow staff.
  • Adhere to agreed policies and procedures for the sign off of all communications materials.
  • Ensure all work is delivered to agreed standards and timelines, showing initiative and motivation at all times. Embrace your own annual appraisal, setting your personal objectives and development plan and providing constructive feedback to assist with other staff’s development.
  • Participate in regular team briefings and build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels through open communication and constructive feedback.
  • Deliver your objectives in a competent and professional manner at all times.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of using office software applications (incl. Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and e-mail systems)
  • Attention to detail and accurate word processing and data input skills
  • Ability to operate / aptitude to learn how to operate office equipment (e.g. photocopier, fax, scanner, shredder, document binders etc.)
  • Excellent written communication skillsAbility to communicate clearly by telephone and face to face with a range of people including health and social care professionals and the public
  • Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload and use initiative
  • Understanding of systems and strategies for ensuring secure storage and handling of information and of the importance of patient confidentiality
  • Willingness to undertake training as required.

Qualifications required

Minimum of 3 A Levels at grade C or above plus minimum of 5 GCSEs A*-C including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.

We will provide our apprentices with opportunities to develop their knowledge and experience in order to ensure they are ready for opportunities internally and externally after their apprenticeship has been completed.
