The Fitness Zone are looking for a Apprentice Leisure Manager to learn all aspects of management within a health club. This will include:

  • Full administrative duties
  • Selling  memberships
  • Face to face and on the phone.

Also dealing with Gym Maintenance and daily tasks, cleaning and reporting any faults with equipment. Gym supervision to assist members with queries and ensure rules adhered to. Reporting to and working with Fitness Director. Full training provided on all equipment.

As this is a female only gym, we welcome applications from females only.  This is an occupational requirement and is covered under the Equality Act 2010

As an Apprentice you will be included on an Active Leisure Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor who will visit you on a regular basis, to deliver the training and coach the Apprentice and will be observing whilst you work

  • To be able to work on own initiative as well as in a team.
  • Previous experience is not required as the employer is looking for someone who wants to develop a long term career in Active Leisure

  • To be successful in this role you will need to be a hard worker with good communication skills and who is able to provide excellent customer service.
  • You will need an outgoing personality and plenty of common sense, be reliable & punctual

Things to consider

The work pattern is any 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Shifts vary weekly, between the hours of 9am and 9pm and will include days, and weekend work to the requirements of the workplace. The wage is advertised for 3o hours, this may increase some weeks up to 40 and the wage will increase accordingly. As this is a female only gym, we welcome applications from females only. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
