Ftec provides a wide range of property repairs and maintenance services and we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our growing team.

The purpose of this role will be to primarily support the contracts manager and other members of the team to ensure all admin tasks are organised and completed.

This is a varied role with potential for the right candidate to grow and take on more responsibilities. The successful applicant must be computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Duties will include, but is not limited to:

  • To answer the telephone in a professional manner in line with company policy, obtaining the appropriate information and relaying messages accurately when necessary.
  • Processing of works orders received from receipt through to payment
  • Assist with planning and making appointments, effectively allocating work to the operatives.
  • Logging all telephone and email enquiries, arranging appointments and converting enquiries into work tickets.
  • Raising invoices & customer statements
  • Monitoring and ordering of stationery supplies fleet servicing and repairs, staff holidays and training.
  • To undertake general office duties to include dealing of both incoming and outgoing mail, data entry, photocopying, filing, word processing.

  • A good telephone manner would be essential as there will be lots of customer interaction
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages

Personal qualities

You must be organised and can easily adapt and multi task, as with reactive repairs, you never quite know what is coming next and you need to be able to re-organise!

Qualifications required

GCSE grades A*-C (9-4) in Maths and English or equivalent

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.05 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.50 for those over 25. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). For more information visit:
