    The current National Minimum Wage rates are £4.05 an hour for 16 - 17 year olds, £5.60 an hour for 18 - 20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship(usually one day per week).

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, passionate, innovative and motivated person to work as part of a team to deliver a high quality personalised service that maximises outcomes and quality of life to our customers.

As a Health and social care apprentice you will support individual’s on a day to day basis to maintain health and wellbeing in a safe and caring environment and work alongside the Support Worker, Senior support worker and Establishment Manager to help deliver an excellent service for the customers.  You will also be involved in the ongoing development of the service to ensure continued delivery of the Deal for Adult Social Care and Health.

Duties would include:

  • Working as part of a team with support workers to deliver the care required by customers
  • Providing assistance to support workers with centre and off site activities including the setting up and tidying up of activities
  • Dealing with service users and families on a day to day basis
  • Complete any documentation – i.e. communication books / diary sheets legibly and in line with service requirements
  • Operating in line with Wigan Council policies and procedures

Qualifications to be achieved are:
