Your day to day duties will include the following:

  • Utilise software packages such as Microsoft Office to draft emails, letters and distribute documentation according to local procedures.
  • Update computer databases and spreadsheets, and assist in compiling information for the team.
  • Maintain confidentiality, answer telephone calls, respond to emails and provide basic information as a first point of contact, or refer where appropriate to a manager.
  • Undertake basic administration duties such as filing, emailing and photocopying to support the team.
  • Arrange meetings and provide administrative support for example through note and minute-taking.

Qualifications required

  • Whilst GCSEs or A-levels are desirable, they are not essential as qualifications are provided as part of the role.
  • Successful candidates will either study towards a level 3 Apprenticeship within Business Administration which is carefully considered for each individual and the placement they are working within.

There may be the opportunity for a permanent role or a further apprenticeship.

Training provider

Knowledge and competence - based component:

  • This provides the Apprentice with the knowledge and understanding that underpins the competence an individual is required to perform in their job role as well as demonstrate an individual’s competence to perform the job roles to industry standards.
  • The qualification is made up of a number of mandatory units together with a range of optional units to give the qualification sufficient breadth to cover the variations which exist in the industry: NVQ Level 3 Business and Administration.

Functional Skills:

  • There may be relaxations for individuals who have achieved a GCSE grades A* to C in English and/or Maths.
  • Those students without a GCSE A* to C will be supported at College, with the development of these skills and to achieve their Key Skills or Functional Skills certificates.
