Day to Day duties include:

  • To clean up equipment and resources for the head chef, when food has is finished being prepared/cooked;
  • Clean equipment and crockery from children's meal and snack times on a regular basis;
  • Ensure all equipment, including children's drinking cups are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis (this includes being left to completely dry before returning to the rooms);
  • Ensure high levels of cleanliness are maintained and recorded at all times within the kitchen and food storage areas;
  • Prepare healthy snacks for children (in line with menus set);
  • To follow the daily / weekly cleaning schedule, in line with direction from head chef, using the appropriate cleaning equipment.
  • Be prepared to undertake further training as and when required.To attend and fully contribute to staff meetings and training sessions outside working hours.
  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the chef or Managers.

This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
