An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and creative child care apprentice to join our experienced Early Years Teams in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

Would you like a rewarding and fulfilling career in a nurturing, fun and friendly environment?

We are looking for a Childcare apprentice to join our busy team, learning all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage whilst working in a nursery environment and studying towards your Childcare qualification.

You will be working towards your L3 Childcare apprenticeship by assisting in a range of duties relevant to your studies, you will also be given non-contact time to complete your learning.

Duties include:

  • Meeting and greeting parents and children
  • Making observations on Children’s learning
  • Helping with snack time
  • Ensuring an excellent level of health & safety is maintained at all times
  • Interacting and playing with children in a fun and educational manner.

Requirements and prospects

  • An ability to relate and engage to an excellent level with children.
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Able to use initiative
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

Personal qualities

  • A strong passion for education and caring for young children
  • Good organisational and planning skills.

Must have a kind, patient and loving nature and be motivated to learn. Be reliable, trustworthy and patient.

Qualifications required

GCSE Maths and English A – C (9 - 4) or equivalent.

Things to consider

Holiday entitlement: Term Time only post The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
