The Care Assistant is part of the caring team and as such works with other staff to care for the Service Users in the Home.

The work can be physically and mentally demanding, and the person appointed to the post will be expected to have an understanding of and sympathy with elderly people.

Main duties would include:

  • Promote the Company Mission Statement at all times
  • To have an understanding for the Health and Social Care Act 2008
  • Maintain Service Users' privacy and dignity at all times whilst ensuring that they have a right of choice. Participate in the care planning process
  • Help the Service Users lead as a full a life as possible. Provide and maintain the highest possible levels of care, and assist with Service Users' activities. Encourage independence whilst providing appropriate levels of support in line with individually assessed needs
  • Take on the role of the key worker for allocated Service Users in relation to set guidelines
  • Assist in framework of social activities which include Service User's hobbies and interests internally and externally
  • Help with the serving and supervision of meals and feeding Service Users where necessary
  • Assist Service Users who have limited mobility in making the best use of the aids provided
  • The Care Home Apprentice is part of the caring team and as such works with other staff to care for the Service Users in the Home

Daily duties would Include:

  • Administration duties such as; creating personal profiles for residents, dealing with telephone and email enquiries and keeping diaries and arranging appointments
  • Promoting the Company Mission Statement at all times
  • Having an understanding for the Health and Social care act 2008
  • Plan and participate in framework of social activities which include Service User's hobbies and interests
  • Help with the serving and supervision of meals and feeding Service Users where necessary
  • Assist in the delivery of End of Life Care
  • Assist with the care and safe keeping of Service Users' clothing, personal property and property belonging to the Home
