    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

We are seeking an apprentice customer service assistant to support the daily running within a busy and varied antiques dealership shop.

The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising professionally with shop visitors, taking payments and ensuring a clear and inviting environment within the shop. You will develop an understanding for our stock management processes, sales systems and customer base.

Selwells provide sales space in the form of cabinets for a range of antiques dealers. The successful applicant will develop ongoing positive relationships with partner dealers developing account management skills and understanding of the varied types of stock that is sold.

Within the centre a large number of independent antiques dealers display and sell their items making for a vibrant and exciting shop experience. As well as welcoming in members of the public, Sellwells works extensively with local dealers looking to buy and sell items.

Training provider

Whilst undertaking your apprenticeship you will follow, either an intermediate (L2)  -  12 month programme, or advanced (L3)  following an 18 month customer service apprenticeship framework.

You will gain technical knowledge and practical experience that complements the training that you are provided.

Your training in the main will take place at the work place with a member of our tutor team providing regular work based visits to set future tasks and evidence work that you have been doing as part of your role within the business, and will be supplemented by day release sessions where appropriate.
